Item Open Access La Radio como herramienta alternativa para la educación básica en la provincia de Imbabura(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Sede Ibarra, 2021-08) Jaramillo Cabezas, Karla VanessaThe historical context has made it possible to determine that radio from its origin has been linked to literacy processes, so it cannot be said that talking about educational radio is a novelty, in addition its scope is wide, I have reached places where other media still it is impossible for them. That is why radio in the province of Imbabura undoubtedly constitutes an alternative tool for basic education, since it contributes to the learning process through sound that allows everyone who listens to it to expand their creativity. In this sense, this research carries out a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the educational radio programs that contribute to the teaching-learning process of children in basic education in the province of Imbabura, for which interviews were applied to different radio stations in the province. that allow to know the reality of the current radio proposal. The results obtained allow us to establish the advantages of having educational radio, but it has also shown serious shortcomings in terms of content, which is why we are working on a restructuring process.
