Abstract
En la provincia de Imbabura, a 15 minutos de la ciudad de Otavalo, se encuentra la famosa comunidad de origen Kichwa, llamada Peguche. Este sitio cuenta con varios atractivos turísticos. Así mismo, es una tierra de músicos y artesanos, y por lo tanto, cuenta con talleres donde se puede encontrar varias artesanías textiles, las cuales siguen conservando las técnicas ancestrales para su elaboración, lo cual constituye un gran potencial turístico. Actualmente, los turistas no tienen amplio conocimiento sobre los talleres, porque no ha existido mayor promoción. El presente trabajo de investigación, tiene como fin poner en valor cuatro talleres artesanales de la comunidad de Peguche, Cantón Otavalo, Provincia de Imbabura, a través de un plan de promoción turística, que promueva la llegada de turistas. La metodología aplicada consistió en encuestas y entrevistas tanto a artesanos locales como autoridades de la comunidad de Peguche. Los resultados encontrados demuestran que los artesanos están de acuerdo en ejecutar un Plan de Promoción Turística para sus talleres; así mimo, las autoridades mencionaron que no existe presupuesto destinado a este tipo de estrategias, sin embargo, se creó una página web donde se puede encontrar información de cuatro talleres artesanales de Peguche. Se concluye que la mejor estrategia para promocionar los atractivos de Peguche son las redes sociales, así también, se deben generar alianzas estratégicas con el sector privado, como agencias de viajes locales y nacionales.
In the province of Imbabura, 15 minutes from the city of Otavalo, is the famous community of Kichwa origin, called Peguche. This site has several tourist attractions. Likewise, it is a land of musicians and artisans, and therefore it has workshops where you can find various textile crafts, which continue to preserve the ancestral techniques for their elaboration, which constitutes a great tourist potential. Currently, tourists do not have extensive knowledge about the workshops, because there has been no further promotion. The purpose of this research work is to value four artisan workshops in the Peguche community, Otavalo Canton, Imbabura Province, through a tourism promotion plan that promotes the arrival of tourists. The applied methodology consisted of surveys and interviews with both local artisans and authorities from the Peguche community. The results found show that the artisans agree to execute a Tourism Promotion Plan for their workshops; likewise, the authorities mentioned that there is no budget allocated to this type of strategy, however, a web page was created where information can be found on four Peguche artisan workshops. It is concluded that the best strategy to promote the attractions of Peguche are social networks, as well as strategic alliances with the private sector, such as local and national travel agencies
