Rescate del conocimiento ancestral medicinal en la comunidad de Piava, cantón Cotacachi

Abstract
Ecuador se destaca por su diversidad cultural y amplia herencia cultural de los pueblos y nacionalidades. En el cantón Cotacachi, el turismo místico es una oportunidad para el rescate del conocimiento ancestral medicinal, destacándose por tratar malestares físicos y sobrenaturales, generando el interés de turistas en la práctica de medicina ancestral. El turismo místico desempeña un papel fundamental en la promoción de las riquezas culturales y en el fomento de la búsqueda del bienestar físico, mental y espiritual, siendo una actividad beneficiosa para los practicantes y turistas. El objetivo general del estudio es revalorizar los conocimientos de medicina ancestral de la comunidad de Piava, por medio de la diversificación turística para promover la práctica de la modalidad del turismo místico. Se desarrolló un enfoque mixto implementando los métodos analítico, sintético y deductivo. Además; las técnicas fueron documental, encuestas, entrevistas y observación. El universo de estudio fue de 40.036 habitantes del cantón Cotacachi al cual luego de aplicar el cálculo se obtuvo una muestra de 165 encuestas. Los resultados alcanzados determinaron el interés que se presenta en torno a la medicina ancestral como un producto turístico. Respecto al trabajo de campo se desarrollaron seis fichas de observación; 3 acerca de las plantas utilizadas en las prácticas ancestrales, 2 sobre los sitios sagrados localizados en la comunidad de Piava y por último un jardín etnobotánico. En función de las investigaciones realizadas, se propone la creación de una ruta turística que incluya sitios sagrados y prácticas de medicina ancestral. Se concluye que el turismo místico busca experiencias espirituales profundas guiadas por yachaks y curanderos, así mismo la medicina ancestral ofrece una oportunidad para desarrollar esta modalidad de turismo y atraer a visitantes interesados en experiencias auténticas y espirituales, las cuales encontrarán participando en la ruta Ally Kawsay.

In Cotacachi, mystical tourism is an opportunity for the rescue of ancestral medicinal knowledge, standing out for treating physical and supernatural ailments, generating the interest of tourists in the practice of ancestral medicine. Mystical tourism plays a fundamental role in the promotion of cultural wealth and in encouraging the search for physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing, being a beneficial activity for practitioners and tourists. The general objective of the study is to revalue the knowledge of ancestral medicine of the community of Piava, through tourism diversification to promote the practice of the modality of mystical tourism. A mixed approach was developed implementing analytical, synthetic and deductive methods. In addition; the techniques were documentary, surveys, interviews and observation. The study universe was 40,036 inhabitants of the Cotacachi canton, and after applying the calculation, a sample of 165 surveys was obtained. The results determined the interest in ancestral medicine as a tourist product. With respect to the field work, six observation sheets were developed; 3 about the plants used in ancestral practices, 2 about the sacred sites located in the community of Piava and finally an ethnobotanical garden. Based on the research conducted, the creation of a tourist route including sacred sites and ancestral medicine practices is proposed. It is concluded that mystical tourism seeks deep spiritual experiences guided by yachaks and healers, likewise ancestral medicine offers an opportunity to develop this type of tourism and attract visitors interested in authentic and spiritual experiences, which they will find by participating in the Ally Kawsay route.
