Abstract
The integral project for conservation of archaeological heritage in Caranqui parish, comprehensively addresses a proposal set up in the reality of a complex heritage context immersed in the urban parish of Caranqui, which has specific characteristics and troubles inherent to heritage, cultural identity, and consolidation processes. The context where Archaeological structures are found shows abandonment and progressive deterioration of these, due to urban processes, anthropic and natural risks, as well as the loss of cultural identity, ignorance of history and the remaining existence of these buildings that survive the passage of time. These arguments are the preliminaries to prove the design of the comprehensive project, whose purpose is to link the buildings erected that are witnesses to the past and present of the Caranqui parish. The priority lies in the preservation of archaeological structures, fostering cultural identity and community life, where the inhabitant is the protagonist and enriches the present and shows the conservation in the future. Each of these structures becomes a landmark of encounter between memory and contemporaneity. The urban proposal consist in connecting the main archaeological landmarks of the parish, the mound called Tola Emapa and the Inca Huasi archaeological site, to the existing public spaces of greater relevance through the redesign of existing roads, differentiation by characteristics of the types of proposed roads, the improvement of the conditions of them, the creation of pedestrian paths emphasizing the current need to include vegetation in the public space, and also the preference towards the pedestrian in the existing and proposed public space, linking it to the equipment to be presented. The proposed equipment is linked to a set of spaces whose synthesis allows generating a landmark for the community and the parish, thus composed of complementary spaces, whose integration into the public space promotes cultural identity and protects archaeological areas, allowing the conservation of tangible and intangible heritage. The architectural proposal proves a site museum linked to the urban proposal, found in the most important archaeological site, supplying protection, conservation, and revaluation of the pre-Hispanic culture for the Caranqui parish, the milestones, ensembles, traditions, and collective memory, thus generating a space that answers to a concept analogous to the ancestral construction systems used in the edification of these structures. In this way, the project proves the intrinsic relationship between the past and the present, where the community forges that connection. The integrated design honors the past as a source of identity and thereby commits to preserving the environment for future generations.
