To this end, we sought to define the way in which stereotypes are perceived within digital environments, studying the different ways in which they can be presented, but especially by directly observing digital spaces such as Instagram because it is one of the networks that most lends itself to the presentation and replication of stereotypes. Taking into account the above, a mixed content analysis was conducted in thirty Instagram accounts that were chosen through a series of parameters that established the relevance of the same within the city of Ibarra and the influence of either internal or external factors on self-esteem, such information was contrasted through interviews seeking to identify through the main sources if the observation of reality from the graphic is sufficient to determine certain aspects that are linked to personality and the development of the same. Obtaining as a result that the relationship that exists between Instagram and self-esteem is totally related to the content that is consumed and the ability of each person to digest it, because the graphic field has a high impact within the new reality, but also on the self concept that individuals have about themselves and the influence of social networks in the constant construction of stereotypes that are often presented as the right way to do something, generating a comparison between what is socially right and what is healthy, taking into account that perfection lies in the perception that one has about something.
