Item Open Access La situación laboral actual de las y los periodistas en Imbabura(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Ibarra, 2022-08) Muñoz Mora, Kathleen LissetteThe present investigation focused on the study of the agenda setting and the informative treatment of the massive vaccination campaign against Covid-19; For this, two television channels with the highest rating in Ecuador were taken as research subjects: Ecuavisa and Teleamazonas. As a starting point, this theme was considered since it was the main offer of President Guillermo Lasso during his presidential candidacy in 2021. The methodological design was configured from a descriptive analytical procedure that allowed us to highlight the characteristics of the two television channels. For this purpose, we started from a quantitative-qualitative approach through content analysis and discourse analysis, this triangulation allowed us to know the informative treatment and the discourse of the news of each medium to establish the type of journalistic content disseminated in relation to the vaccination campaign. For the collection of information, the first 100 days of President Lasso's administration were taken as a reference; therefore, the research corpus was made up of 66 news from Teleamazonas and 78 from Ecuavisa. The preliminary results show that the Ecuavisa channel disseminates information with an approach more attached to journalistic ethics, contrasts sources and appeals to the argument of specialists, almost entirely from broadcasts, although it also uses the first person in a large part of its speech. On the other hand, in Teleamazonas all the news is narrated in the third person and the bias towards the Government stands out through headlines and merely informative/informative content.
