Item Open Access Propuesta de creación de una empresa para la producción y la exportación de tapices de lana de la parroquia de Iluman, hacia Brisbane - Australia(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Sede Ibarra, 2019-03) Cáceres Morales, Elvis MisaelThroughout the history of Ecuador, one of the main characteristics for which the country is recognized is its geography, its nature, its craftsmanship and its ethnic diversity; But with the passing of time, craftsmanship has been declining so much in its production, supply and demand due to the presence of new products that are industrial, with the same characteristics and at a much lower cost. Each region or community is recognized by a type of craftsmanship that produces, such as toquilla hats are from Montecristi, tagua is native to Riobamba, in this case the parish of San Juan de Iluman is recognized for its wool tapestries of sheep and hats, products that have transcended in the course of history, weavings in which formerly impregnated thanks to their hands the history of their ancestors, the way of life that they maintained in each era. Technology is a great threat to the artisanal sector, in this case wool tapestries, many of the artisans who were previously engaged in this trade have stopped doing so, one of the reasons, is the lack of sufficient income to maintain a quality of average life, a large presence of industrialized textile products, drastic decrease in demand, previously woolen carpets were used for the manufacture of handbags, backpacks among others, but nowadays this changed with the emergence of textiles with similar characteristics. But countries of "First World" have a greater appreciation to this type of products, one of the main factors is the authenticity with which they are produced, being a handmade product they are not produced in volume, so not many people will be able to obtain the same product, for which it has a competitive advantage over industrialized products. A company which retains the traditions and custom in the production of wool carpets, can take advantage of this market segment, in this case Australia-Brisbane, which maintains one of the highest purchasing power indexes with respect to another country in the world, which will increase the demand thus strengthening the company and its artisans, for which this type of craft will not be lost.
