Item Open Access Exportación de artesanías elaboradas en caña guadua y bambú de la microempresa artesanías López de Otavalo hacia el mercado Madrid - España(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Sede Ibarra, 2018-09) Morán Maigua, María Martha CeciliaA large part of the inhabitants of the Otavalo canton are dedicated to the elaboration of different handicrafts that highlight the creativity and skill of the artisan, using mainly raw material in an environmentally friendly way, whose products are marketed in the Centennial Market of Otavalo canton, commonly known as Plaza de Ponchos. One of the biggest problems that was detected when carrying out the research is the ignorance about the export processes by the artisans, including the way to reach international markets and the benefits it could have; Therefore, this research project aims to become a guide or source of consultation for the artisan to make the decision to make exports directly from the micro-enterprise López Handicrafts, to handicraft distributors in the Spanish market; to improve profitability, becoming a generator of economical incomes for their families. It is important to enclose that the bamboo incense holders made by Mr. López present a higher or greater level of quality that distinguishes them from the competition, even being a highlighted factor by the rest of local producers. Thanks to the unique techniques and applied knowledge in the production processes, they allow the artisans to obtain a final item of lower weight, which are accompanied by high creativity in designs and figures complemented with colors. Due to the characteristics that presents the elaborated product by Mr. López, he can access to the programs of Public Institutions such as PRO ECUADOR, to participate in the different international fairs in order to obtain new clients from foreign markets, in addition he can access the benefits that the Export Easy program offers to the artisan in order to increase exports and insert them into new markets making shipments to any country in a safe and agile way. Foreign customers are very well received by Ecuadorian bamboo incense holders, although the price is higher compared to other preceding producers from other countries, this has not prevented their acquisition, because the trend of Spanish consumers is to prefer products with a greater degree of elaboration; pointing itself towards designs that represent, Native American cultures, nature, stars and other designs; additionally, the European customer is replacing plastic products with any type of wood, due to the classic luxury impression that this material provides, having a double utilitarian function. The Spanish market nowadays has the tendency to acquire hand-made products, the incense holder in Ecuadorian bamboo that is intended to be exported meets the requirements that the client demands, therefore an unmet demand of 1800 units is determined based on the Primary information; amount that can be covered by the López Handicrafts microenterprise. Finally, the obtained data in the Economic Study show that it is viable to carry out this project.Item Open Access Exportación de bolsos acrílicos de la empresa Artesanías J.A de la ciudad de Otavalo, hacia el mercado de Madrid - España(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Sede Ibarra, 2019-10) De la Torre Sarabino, Verónica LizbethArtesanías J.A has been in the market for several years with its products having a great reception in the public, since it develops quality products for its final customers, the present investigation, allowed to determine a target market to which handicraft bags can be exported. The present investigation is structured in four chapters, the theoretical framework allowed to theoretically and bibliographically base the different contents of the research, the second chapter is the diagnosis of the current situation of the company and the market study, which was carried out using the tool Trade Map and Market Access Map of heading 42029100, to identify imports and exports of handicraft bags worldwide, thus determining the appropriate market for the export of the product. In the same way, exportation was taken into account: logistic, legal and geographical factors of the country of destination of the product. Chapter three in the export proposal made the profile of the company, in the same way the requirements for exporting handbags, the forms of payment used for export and the payments that must be made for the product to enter the market were established from Madrid Spain. Finally, chapter four carried out the financial analysis in order to determine the export costs of the product to the destination market, and analyze the financial indicators such as NPV, IRR, C / B, breakeven point, among others.Item Open Access Inteligencia de mercados para la exportación de artesanías elaboradas a base de fibra de cabuya por la asociación artesanal mujer y medio ambiente de la parroquia Plaza Gutiérrez, zona de Intag - provincia de Imbabura(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Sede Ibarra, 2018-11) Ponce Chirán, Silvana PaolaThe "Women and Environment Craft Association" located in the Plaza Gutiérrez parish, in the Intag area, Cotachachi canton, Imbabura province, was founded more than 20 years ago by Mrs. Sandra, a foreign woman who motivated the women of the Plaza Gutiérrez parish to start this endeavor thought to take advantage of the nature that surrounds them and the benefits that it offers them to obtain some type of additional income for the family economy, through the elaboration of handicrafts based on cabuya fiber. The main objective of this research was to determine a potential market to which the crafts can be exported. The intelligence of markets for the export of this product was elaborated with the study of the exports and imports that the crafts have around the world, in this way was chosen the country that more imports makes of this product and also through the benefits of its different logistical, legal and geographic factors, resulting in the country of the United States being the most favorable to carry out exports of handicrafts resulted in the financial study defined the indicators, net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), cost benefit, contribution margin and break-even point based on the information that was provided by the association.Item Open Access Propuesta de creación de una empresa para la producción y la exportación de tapices de lana de la parroquia de Iluman, hacia Brisbane - Australia(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Sede Ibarra, 2019-03) Cáceres Morales, Elvis MisaelThroughout the history of Ecuador, one of the main characteristics for which the country is recognized is its geography, its nature, its craftsmanship and its ethnic diversity; But with the passing of time, craftsmanship has been declining so much in its production, supply and demand due to the presence of new products that are industrial, with the same characteristics and at a much lower cost. Each region or community is recognized by a type of craftsmanship that produces, such as toquilla hats are from Montecristi, tagua is native to Riobamba, in this case the parish of San Juan de Iluman is recognized for its wool tapestries of sheep and hats, products that have transcended in the course of history, weavings in which formerly impregnated thanks to their hands the history of their ancestors, the way of life that they maintained in each era. Technology is a great threat to the artisanal sector, in this case wool tapestries, many of the artisans who were previously engaged in this trade have stopped doing so, one of the reasons, is the lack of sufficient income to maintain a quality of average life, a large presence of industrialized textile products, drastic decrease in demand, previously woolen carpets were used for the manufacture of handbags, backpacks among others, but nowadays this changed with the emergence of textiles with similar characteristics. But countries of "First World" have a greater appreciation to this type of products, one of the main factors is the authenticity with which they are produced, being a handmade product they are not produced in volume, so not many people will be able to obtain the same product, for which it has a competitive advantage over industrialized products. A company which retains the traditions and custom in the production of wool carpets, can take advantage of this market segment, in this case Australia-Brisbane, which maintains one of the highest purchasing power indexes with respect to another country in the world, which will increase the demand thus strengthening the company and its artisans, for which this type of craft will not be lost.Item Open Access Sistema de exportaciones de las unidades económicas artesanales de San Antonio de Ibarra que elaboran artesanías de madera: caso de la unidad artesanal económica del Sr. Tarquino Castro(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Sede Ibarra, 2019-04) Cáceres Miño, Ana SaloméThe present project is focused on the artisanal unit of Mr.Tarquino Castro which has been in the market for more than 10 years, the company is legally constituted and has all the papers in order to function, the company is engaged in the elaboration of ornaments and religious sculptures, the workshop where the work is carried out is of an area of approximately 30 square meters, currently belongs to the Association of Artisans. The lack of information to the artisans regarding the export process has been one of the main reasons why the Imbabureño product in handicrafts is not positioned in the international market, so it is necessary to provide information to the artisan so that Start exporting your products and expand your sales in international markets. The development of the project is carried out a market study, with the purpose of determining the main countries that have as destination the wooden crafts and religious statues of Ecuador, the access to these markets, tariff situations and commercial opportunities, with the purpose of identify the possibility of implementing an export plan for the benefit of Mr. Tarquino Castro artisanal economic unit, located in the parish of San Antonio de Ibarra.Item Open Access Sistema de exportaciones de las unidades económicas artesanales de San Antonio de Ibarra que elaboran artesanías en madera: caso de la unidad económica artesanal del Sr. Carlos Enrique Reyes(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Sede Ibarra, 2019-04) Amuy Ortega, Johana GabrielaThe present investigation was proposed as a general objective to evaluate the internal aspects of the artisanal economic units of San Antonio de Ibarra that elaborate handicrafts in wood, and the external factors that influence in the management of the same, case of the economic artisan unit of Mr. Carlos Enrique Reyes in order to export the product to an international market in this case to Italy. The purpose of expanding the product towards international markets starting with the Italian country, where the crafts of religious images and ornaments in general are very much desired. The direct beneficiaries of the project are the owners of the artisanal unit of Mr. Carlos Reyes since his product will be released in Italy and thus enter the international market. The indirect beneficiaries are the inhabitants of San Antonio de Ibarra, since employment sources are created for the residents. The company is located in the center of San Antonio and near where the raw material for the development of their different crafts, characteristics that allow the production to be permanent providing a constant production volume that can guarantee the export of the production. of handicrafts of the artisanal unit is destined 20% to expand the product internationally, enough quantity to initiate a process of export of the same. Regarding the characteristics of the consumer in Italy, they are oriented to the quality of the products and price. The buyer in Italy requires 168 units per year an average of 42 units per quarter.
