Item Open Access Programación educativa infantil promovida por la televisión pública nacional y su impacto en los niños de 9 a 11 años de la provincia de Imbabura(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Sede Ibarra, 2017-11) Chicaiza Erazo, Ivonne EstefaníaA research work has as primary objective to generate learning in the people who make use of it. The knowledge of the work "Children's educational programming promoted by the national public television and its impact on children from 9 to 11 years of the province of Imbabura" is divided into four chapters, which make up the present investigation. The first chapter called Theoretical Framework, is a purely theoretical section that contains the conceptualization of communication, social communication, educommunication, public television, educational television, children's programming among others. Likewise, it exposes the function and the potential that the media have when merging television with communication and education of children. The diagnosis, corresponding to the second section, contains a quantitative research based on the numbers in order to investigate, analyze, verify and obtain viable information that serves as support for the present investigation. Through surveys, it was possible to capture the preferences of the target audience in terms of schedules, type of channels, type of programs and the time they use to watch television. In addition, it was known the impact that educational children's programming promoted by public television on children from 9 to 11 years old has had and is having in the province of Imbabura. Jointly, interviews (techniques) directed to experts in communication, education and programming were used to know for sure how to use media in education. Direct observation was also another technique that helped to obtain more information, comparing the contents of various educational programs. The proposal, the third chapter of this research work, proposes a micro program with contents and elements that children prefer to watch on their television sets. A name is proposed for the program, a slogan, objectives, mission, vision and policies when producing it. The new microprogram "CAJA SORPRESA, televisión para aprender y enseña" ("SORPRESA CAJA, television to learn and teach"), focuses on the education of children, working and living with them to learn more about the topics that most interest them and awaken their imagination (legends, animals and mental games), taking care of every detail so as not to fall into the ordinary and always be a fun program. XI The fourth chapter, exposes the analysis of positive and negative impacts that the project generates in different approaches, this analysis is based on the areas related to the subject, communication area, social area and educational area. In addition, it offers a general analysis that aims to demonstrate exactly in which areas of children's daily life is impacting the educational children's programming promoted by public television.
