Abstract
In Ecuador, domestic violence deeply affects women, children, and adolescents, with alarming statistics showing that 60% of women have experienced some form of violence. This thesis aims to design a Comprehensive Shelter Center for families who are victims of violence in the parish of La Esperanza, based on principles of neuroarchitecture and biophilia, creating a safe and optimized space for their healing and reintegration into society. The methodology includes an extensive literature review and field analysis at the shelter Casa Mamá Zoila in Ibarra. These techniques allowed for the identification of the specific needs of the victims, developing an architectural design with areas for psychological, medical, and social care, in addition to common spaces that foster coexistence and mutual support. This comprehensive center aims not only to offer shelter and assistance but also to ensure that the victims can enjoy a dignified and violence-free life. Located in a rural area with high natural density, the project takes advantage of the environment to promote the well-being of the victims through contact with nature. The spatial distribution is organized around a main axis that connects the different spaces, integrating landscape elements that generate various sensations in the users. The architectural design seeks to promote physical and psychological recovery, facilitate social reintegration, and ensure safety and protection, creating an environment that supports the healing and empowerment process of the affected families.
