Abstract
This study focuses on analyzing the accessibility of education for the indigenous community in the towns of Azabi del Mortiñal and San Clemente, in the Province of Imbabura, Ecuador. It begins with a bibliographic review to establish a starting point, define the problem and delimit the general objectives and scope of the research. A descriptive methodology based on documentary analysis is used, incorporating studies supported by legal and jurisprudential foundations that show inequalities in educational access. The research is framed within a socio-critical paradigm, analyzing the social environment from a descriptive perspective to clarify the hypothesis. A qualitative approach is used to analyze the regulations, applying a deductive methodology that starts from the general to the specific. The diagnostic evaluation highlights the obstacles that the indigenous population faces in their access to education, identifying significant challenges, especially at higher educational levels. The results obtained through the documentary review technique are presented, including the national and international normative framework, as well as the educational policies and strategies implemented in the communities of Azabi del Mortiñal and San Clemente. Recommendations are proposed to evaluate the effectiveness of possible solutions, conduct a comparative analysis with international standards, explore the feasibility oflegislative reform proposals and carry out an ongoing dialogue with communities to assess the perception of progress. The importance of research in the context of educational equity and inclusion is highlighted, aligning with the National Opportunity Plan.
