Abstract
El Ecuador es un país que durante toda su historia ha tenido distintas problemáticas sociales como la pobreza. En la investigación, se analiza el impacto que tiene el gasto público tanto en Educación realizado por el gobierno como en la disminución de la pobreza en el país. Para realizar el análisis se tomaron datos del período 2007-2013 brindados por el Banco Central del Ecuador (BCE) y el Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas y Censos (INEC) para las variables anteriormente mencionadas. La investigación se basó principalmente en informes y publicaciones realizadas por la United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) y la United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), ya que en dichos documentos se encuentra como el bajo nivel de acceso y de la calidad de educación afecta drásticamente a las personas en un futuro a mejorar sus condiciones de vida. En los países desarrollados se encuentran altos índices de acceso a educación, mientras que en los países en vías de desarrollo como el Ecuador estos se reducen considerablemente y más aún en África, lo que evidencia la importancia de aumentar y mejorar el gasto público en este sector con la finalidad de disminuir la pobreza. Para conseguir el objetivo, se procedió a utilizar un estudio descriptivo y explicativo de las variables utilizadas y de igual forma aplicar un modelo MCO, que permitió analizar la correlación existente entre el Gasto Público en Educación y la Pobreza.

In the research, the impact that public spending has on both Education made by the government and the reduction of poverty in the country is analyzed. To carry out the analysis, data from the period 2007-2013 provided by the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE) and the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC) were taken for the aforementioned variables. The research was based mainly on reports and publications made by the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), since these documents include the low level of access and the quality of education drastically affects people in the future to improve their living conditions. In the developed countries there are high rates of access to education, while in developing countries like Ecuador these are reduced considerably and even more so in Africa, which shows the importance of increasing and improving public spending in this sector in order to reduce poverty. To achieve the objective, we proceeded to use a descriptive and explanatory study of the variables used and likewise apply an OLS model, which allowed us to analyze the existing correlation between Public Spending in Education and Poverty.
