Abstract
This project proposes the design of a biophilic day gerontological center in Antonio Ante, with the aim of promoting the independence of the elderly and improving their quality of life. To achieve this, universal architectural standards will be implemented, ensuring adequate accessibility for this age group. Most elderly people need a space where they can share their experiences and, at the same time, stay active through activities that allow them to interact with people of the same age. This center aims to provide an environment where they can share experiences and improve both their physical and emotional health through workshops and physical activities. The project is organized into four main blocks: Administrative Area: This is where the various activities of the center will be planned and coordinated. Health and Sports Area: This area will include a gym and a rehabilitation zone, specifically designed to meet the needs of the elderly. Workshop Area: Essential for developing the skills of the elderly, where they can participate in various activities that enhance their abilities and keep their minds and bodies active. Restaurant Area: A space for social interaction, not only for the elderly but also for visitors to the center, where they can enjoy a coffee and engage in a pleasant conversation. All these facilities revolve around the heart of the center: the central plaza, which distributes the different areas with the aim of facilitating the optimal development of all activities for the elderly. In sum, this center will promote the overall well-being of the elderly, offering opportunities for physical exercise, social interaction, emotional development, and the enhancement of their skills.
