Abstract
El trabajo de titulación se desarrolla en la comunidad de Larcacunga, ubicada en la parroquia de Quichinche, perteneciente al cantón Otavalo de la provincia de Imbabura. La investigación se centra en resolver una problemática con respecto a la pérdida de la identidad cultural y la falta de empleo debido a las pocas oportunidades de desarrollo. La comunidad cuenta con recursos que pueden ser utilizados para su propio beneficio, poseen grandes extensiones de áreas verdes, diversidad de flora y fauna, y una identidad que está vinculada a la historia de la parroquia de Quichinche y Otavalo. Se propone una solución arquitectónica, social, económica y ambiental, debido al entorno en el que se ubica y al problema que se quiere solventar. Mediante espacios destinados a talleres de aprendizaje, puntos de venta gastronómicos y de artesanías, alojamientos turísticos y miradores para aprovechar las visuales, se busca compensar la falta de infraestructuras en la parroquia de Quichinche, revitalizar la cultura y reactivar la economía del sector, aprovechando el potencial turístico de la zona.
The thesis project is developed in the community of Larcacunga, located in the parish of Quichinche, belonging to the Otavalo canton in the province of Imbabura. The research focuses on addressing issues related to the loss of cultural identity and unemployment due to limited development opportunities. The community has resources that can be utilized for its own benefit, including large areas of green spaces, diverse flora and fauna, and an identity linked to the history of the parish of Quichinche and Otavalo. An architectural, social, economic, and environmental solution is proposed, considering the surroundings and the problem to be solved. By providing spaces for workshops, gastronomic and handicraft sales points, tourist accommodations, and viewpoints to leverage the scenic views, the aim is to compensate for the lack of infrastructure in the parish of Quichinche, revitalize the culture, and reactivate the local economy by harnessing the tourism potential of the area.
