Abstract
El presente proyecto de investigación se realizó en el cantón de Otavalo de la Provincia de Imbabura, con el fin de analizar el conocimiento de cada uno de los Agentes de Control Municipal del cantón Otavalo en relación a turismo, indagar en la importancia que tiene que se reciba una capacitación sobre cultura turística para la superación personal y crecimiento profesional de cada uno de ellos brindando así una mayor seguridad a los turistas y a la población. Esto permitió proponer un Plan de capacitación que brinde estabilidad y que el agente amplíe su vocabulario y conocimiento sobre todos los sitios turísticos que tiene el cantón. En el transcurso de la investigación se realizaron encuestas y entrevistas a los Agentes de Control Municipal en el cantón de Otavalo, las cuales demostraron que existe poco conocimiento sobre estudios turísticos, estos datos permitieron organizar la información requerida y como resultado de esta investigación, se desarrolló una propuesta a través de una estrategia de capacitación que puede brindar información relevante sobre los atractivos turísticos para que los Agentes de control municipal no solo velen por la seguridad de los ciudadanos, sino que también se encarguen de brindar información turística a los visitantes locales, nacionales y en especial al visitante extranjero. De esta forma se pretende que los Agentes de Control Municipal puedan desarrollarse profesionalmente en su ámbito laboral con conocimientos en cultura y geografía turística y el idioma inglés.
The present research project was carried out in the canton of Otavalo in the province of Imbabura, in order to analyze the knowledge of each of the Municipal Control Agents of the canton of Otavalo in relation to tourism, inquire about the importance of receiving training on tourism culture for the personal improvement and professional growth of each of them, thus providing greater security to tourists and the population. This made it possible to propose a Training Plan that provides stability and that the agent broaden his vocabulary and knowledge about all the tourist sites that the canton has. In the course of the investigation, surveys and interviews were conducted with the Municipal Control Agents in the canton of Otavalo, which showed that there is little knowledge about tourist studies, these data made it possible to organise the information required and as a result of this investigation, a proposal was developed through a training strategy that can provide relevant information on tourist attractions so that Municipal Control Agents not only ensure the safety of citizens, but are also responsible for providing tourist information to local, national and especially foreign visitors. In this way, it is intended that the Municipal Control Agents can develop professionally in their workplace with knowledge of tourism culture and geography and the English language.
