Abstract
Dentro del perfil urbano de Otavalo cerca de 7000 familias no disponen de vivienda propia, que corresponde al 9% del total de la población urbana, esto hace que nazca la necesidad de comprender los factores socioeconómicos, políticas públicas, normativas, cronologías de intervención y realidad nacional, que han coadyuvado a la visibilidad latente de esta problemática, se realiza un amplio estudio a escala urbana, guiados en las directrices del ministerio de desarrollo urbano y vivienda (MIDUVI) en el acuerdo ministerial 2 No MIDUVI 002-2018-05-16 y en las metodologías que han logrado buenos resultados en territorios homólogos, siendo así que desde el análisis macro, se determina el territorio con las mejores factibilidades para una intervención urbano – arquitectónica, proponiendo prototipos de vivienda de carácter social incrementales, ajustadas al contexto inmediato, presupuesto y dentro de las normativas de arquitectura y urbanismo del cantón Otavalo.
