Abstract
This degree work is focused on the study of the urban area of San Antonio de Ibarra and the most representative spaces of the Central and South neighborhoods, such as: Heliodoro Ayala square, Francisco Calderón park and the train station sector, which are linked through the street November 27. The objective is to develop an urban-architectural proposal for the reactivation of social, economic and tourist actions for the Central and South neighborhoods of the parish, which has great tourist potential due to its artisanal cultural identity. The research stage is developed based on a mixed approach methodology, using study tools such as urban analysis maps, surveys, interviews and parameters for rating public spaces, to determine variables on different scales, obtaining a diagnosis of the parish, in which shows a decrease in tourism, commerce and community life due to several factors that are presented in chapter 4. Within the methodology, the theoretical framework is important, which bases the project with the study of urban and architectural theories. After carrying out the analysis of the site, it is concluded that the lack of quality public spaces has caused their abandonment, and a bad urban image in general of the entire sector, for which proposals are proposed at the macro, meso and micro levels with a focus on community tourism and adaptable architecture.
