Abstract
El pueblo indígena Natabuela es acreedor de una identidad cultural excepcional que le ha permitido destacar de otros durante siglos; la comunidad San Vicente de Los Óvalos, ubicada en la parroquia San Francisco de Natabuela, es donde existe la mayor concentración de este pueblo milenario. Sin embargo, en la actualidad el desconocimiento y desvalorización de su identidad cultural es evidente en los niños, las niñas y los adolescentes de la comunidad debido a que desde sus hogares la enseñanza cultural no ha sido considerada necesaria, hecho que ha repercutido en las generaciones actuales, quienes al ignorar sus raíces han desva lorizado la memoria ancestral del pueblo indígena Natabuela, olvidando por completo la historia de sus antepasados y las tradi ciones que deberían mantener como parte esencial de su vida. Hoy en día existen pocos representantes del pueblo indígena Natabuela, debido a que muchas personas quienes forman parte de esta etnia, están convencidas de la inferioridad de su cultura, lo que los lleva a ser parte del proceso de aculturación pretendiendo así abandonar su identidad y los valores del pueblo al que verdaderamente pertenecen. Por consiguiente, el planteamiento de un centro de interpretación cultural de apoyo a nivel educativo para San Vicente de Los Óvalos que busque promover e impulsar la identidad cultural del pueblo indígena Natabuela se convierte en una necesidad para los actores del mismo, con la finalidad de promover la iniciativa de preservación, difusión y fortalecimiento de su identidad cultural y el saber ancestral que muchas veces se desmerece por quienes lo conforman, y quienes a futuro serán los promotores estratégicos de su cultura, trabajando con y para la comunidad; este equipamiento de carácter cultural - educativo será parte de la intervención territorial en la comunidad, em pleando la identidad cultural y rural como un recurso de diseño urbano y arquitectónico, dotando de identidad a cada zona pro puesta, logrando así una complementariedad entre todas sus partes.
The Natabuela indigenous people have an exceptional cultural identity that has allowed them to stand out from others for centu ries; the community San Vicente de Los Óvalos, located in the parish of San Francisco de Natabuela, is the place where the greatest concentration of this millennial people exists. Nowadays, the lack of awareness and the unknowledge for their cultural identity is evident among children and teenagers in the community, because cultural education has not been considered necessary from their homes, this is a fact that has had an impact on current generations, those who ignore their roots depreciating the ancestral memory of the Natabuela indigenous people, completely forgetting the history of their past and the traditions they should maintain as an essential part of their lives. Today there are few representatives of the Natabuela indigenous people, because many people who are part of this ethnic group are convinced of the inferiority of their culture, which leads them to be part of the acculturation process in order to abandon their identity and the values of the people to which they truly belong. In consequence, the initiative of a Cultural Interpretation Center as an educational support tool to San Vicente de Los Óvalos is designed to promote the cultural identity of the Natabuela indigenous people becoming a necessity for the residents of the community, with the purpose to boost the initiative of preserva tion, dissemination and strengthening of their cultural identity and ancestral knowledge that is often disregarded by those who makes up this ancient village, and who in the future will be the strategic promoters of their culture, working with and for the community; this equipment of cultural and educational approach will be part of the territorial intervention in the community, using cultural and rural identity as a resource of urban and architectural design, providing identity to each proposed area, thus achieving complementarity between all its parts.
