Abstract
El presente trabajo de revitalización urbana y refuncionalización arquitectónica busca una solución a la problemática encontrada en el sector del Mercado Mayorista de la Ciudad de Ibarra brindando un cambio positivo para mejorar la calidad de vida de los habitantes. Como enfoque principal se tiene la creación de un Mercado Sectorial y Centro Comercial donde, a más de reflejar la esencia comercial que surge a partir de la creación del Mercado Mayorista, aporta al desarrollo urbano social y económico, revalorizando a la edificación y al contexto urbano, a través de espacios que se vinculan con el entorno inmediato propuesto como son áreas verdes para la recreación y esparcimiento de los moradores, aplicando conceptos urbanos de espacio compartido, el cual brinda una armonía entre vías peatonales, vehiculares, ciclo vías y la ampliación de la infraestructura actual de mercado, que se encuentran dentro del sector de intervención. Otro de los enfoques primordiales del proyecto es el mejoramiento del espacio público de las Avenidas Jaime Roldós Aguilera y 13 de Abril, siendo una base fundamental para que nuestra edificación como un centro de partida y llegada para la circulación vehicular y peatonal y así vincular con los demás es pacios descritos con anterioridad. Proponer la creación de un mercado sectorial y centro comercial fue el resultado de la investigación realizada tanto a los moradores como a los comerciantes ubicados en este sector, donde se manifiesta que, desde su concepción hasta la actualidad en un periodo por más de 20 años, este equipamiento fue construido a las afueras de la ciudad y sin una planificación territorial el cual con el tiempo ha cambiado el uso de suelo agrícola que preexistió a finales del siglo XX.
The present work of urban revitalization and architectural refunctionalization seeks a solution to the pro blems found in the Wholesale Market sector of the City of Ibarra, providing a positive change to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants. The main focus is the creation of a Sectoral Market and Shopping Center where, in addition to reflecting the commercial essence that arises from the creation of the Wholesale Market, it contributes to social and economic urban development, revaluing the building and the urban context. , through spaces that are linked to the immediate environment proposed such as green áreas for recreation and recreation of the residents, applying urban concepts of shared space, which provides harmony between pedestrian, vehicular, cycle paths and the expansion of current market infrastructure, which are within the interven tion sector. Another of the primary focuses of the project is the improvement of the public space of Avenida Jaime Roldós Aguilera and 13 de Abril, being a fundamental basis for our building as a center of departure and arrival for vehicular and pedestrian circulation and thus link with the other spaces described above. Proposing the creation of a sectoral market and shopping center was the result of research carried out on both residents and merchants located in this sector, where it is stated that from its conception to the present in a period of more than 20 years, this equipment was built on the outskirts of the city and without territorial planning which over time has changed the use of agricultural land that pre-existed at the end of the 20th century.
