This research starts from a social approach to architecture. Given that there are several people whose right to have a roof over their heads is being violated, the idea of providing accommodation for homeless people was born. Later, it became necessary not only to cover the needs of the indigent with accommodation; because the problem would remain the same; In this way, the idea of complementing the shelter with work spaces for a complete reintegration in the socioeconomic environment of these marginalized people is also born. Proposing a hostel responds to the need that exists in the city of Ibarra due to the lack of equipment that provides a large accommodation capacity; because the existing municipal shelter only caters for 35 people. That is why it is proposed to implement a facility with greater accommodation capacity and at the same time divide it into a temporary area for those who are in a situation of human mobility and a permanent area for those local indigents. The architectural proposal is arranged on the ground with an open design in order to meet the requirements of the concept of freedom and reintegration; having as the heart of the project the space for the orchards, in order to put work as one more reason for common encounter. The commercial area is designed for the three types of indigents that are analyzed in the research: indigents due to extreme poverty, immigrants and ex-prisoners; Due to the fact that not all of them have the same level of studies, various types of workspaces are proposed according to their capacities evaluated in the surveys. The urban proposal includes the restoration of the Ajaví River, in the section corresponding to the property under study; It is proposed to include a corridor with several steps next to it to solve the slope between the land and the river level, in addition to having ramps of universal accessibility so that the users of the shelter can make use of this area and be a space more than recreation.
