Abstract
La presente investigación corresponde al estudio de seguridad urbana y sus implicaciones en el ámbito arquitectónico, cuyo propósito es la regeneración de espacios determinados del centro histórico de Ibarra, delimitando el sector de acuerdo a un estudio y análisis previo del sitio. Para la comprensión de los diversos enfoques que aborda la materia, se realiza la revisión y recopilación de información bibliográfica, estadística y científica, que permite determinar cuáles son los principales problemas que hacen del ambiente urbano inseguro, en consecuencia, sus efectos, que derivan en posibles soluciones. Por tanto, la investigación se orienta a dos aspectos esenciales: la seguridad vial y la percepción de riesgo en el espacio público y privado, que resultan en otras causas específicas. Mediante la aplicación de herramientas fotográficas, mapeos, entrevistas, y la recopilación escrita y gráfica, se verifican los posibles fallos o malos usos del espacio, determinando cuales son los niveles de inseguridad del sector. Para posibles aproximaciones de diseño de un espacio seguro se identifican referentes tanto nacionales, como internacionales, obteniendo un modelo o patrón a seguir para el adecuado diseño urbano y arquitectónico. Finalmente, se propone el diseño de espacios inclusivos y el cambio a un uso abierto del centro de rehabilitación social, aumentando significativamente la seguridad y atendiendo las necesidades de los habitantes del sector.
The present research corresponds to the study of urban safety and its implications in the architectural field, whose purpose is the regeneration of certain spaces in the down town of Ibarra, delimiting the sector according to a previous study and analysis of the site. For the understanding of the diverse approaches that the matter approaches, the revision and compilation of bibliographical, statistical and scientific information is carried out, which allows to determine which are the main problems that make the urban environment unsafe, consequently, its effects, which derive in possible solutions. Therefore, the research is oriented to two essential aspects: road safety and the perception of risk in public and private space, which result in other specific causes. Through the application of photographic tools, mapping, interviews, and written and graphic compilation, possible failures or misuses of space are verified, determining which are the levels of insecurity in the sector. For possible approaches to the design of a safe space, both national and international references are identified, obtaining a model or pattern to follow for an adequate urban and architectural design. Finally, the design of inclusive spaces and the change to an open use of the social rehabilitation center is proposed, significantly increasing security and meeting the needs of the inhabitants of the sector.
