Item Open Access El teatro como estrategia metodológica para el fortalecimiento de habilidades socio-comunicativas en los estudiantes de la unidad educativa del milenio Yachay del cantón Urcuquí(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Sede Ibarra, 2019-06) Calderón Utreras, Evelina HortenciaThe present work has its origin in the need to strengthen the formative process of the socio-communicative skills in the students of Basica Media Sub-level from Milenio "Yachay" School, due to the existence of some limitations in the development of the interpersonal relationships among students, as well as the lack of good manners and politeness in the way they communicate among themselves, it is necessary the implementation of innovative strategies such as the theater, since the theater is based on readings .and oral skills, it helps to develop the learning process of concepts, basic procedures and attitudes for a much better interaction on the students in and out of the classroom. The work began collecting information from different experiences about theater as a methodological strategy in countries places where scientific articles, theses and books which have been generated that reflect the benefits of theater in the classroom, either as a learning strategy or a pedagogical tool that aims to achieve the development of skills, abilities and main skills to form creative and integral people. This study was made in the Basica Media Sub-Level of the Milenio "Yachay" School, where participated 196 students, 8 teachers and 3 administrative teachers, it used a mixed methodology of descriptive type and framed within the investigation-action; also the logical historical, synthetic and inductive analytical methods were used, with techniques such as observation, focus groups, the interview and the survey, the last one was designed for the assessment through the Likert scale. With the collecting information, we proceeded to tabulate, analyze and interpret the data, whose results validated to implement the theater as a methodological strategy to strengthen of socio-communicative skills. Based on these results, we proceeded to design the proposal that is to implement the theater club in the Milenio"Yachay" School as a means to strengthen social-communication skills. Before to the design of the proposal, an exhaustive investigation was carried out to establish the foundation, covering each of its components. This work required a great personal and institutional effort; it gave a great importance to the integral development of the students.
