Abstract
La ciudad de Ibarra revela un prometedor potencial para el desarrollo de atracciones turísticas, en especial en el ámbito del 'dark tourism', y más aún al aprovechar la tecnología de realidad aumentada. Esta oportunidad se presenta como un camino claro hacia la incorporación de dicha tecnología, abarcando no solo cementerios, sino también viviendas con historias de espíritus, leyendas y lugares relacionados con experiencias paranormales. La aplicación de esta tecnología se vislumbra como un factor competitivo tanto a nivel local como nacional, lo cual abarca beneficios significativos para toda la comunidad. Por consiguiente, el presente estudio propone la conceptualización de una ruta turística que integre lo paranormal y la innovación tecnológica. Para su desarrollo, se emplearon enfoques de investigación cualitativos y cuantitativos, integrando métodos analíticos, sintéticos y deductivos. Asimismo, se llevó a cabo un exhaustivo análisis bibliográfico, investigaciones de campo y comparativas, haciendo uso de técnicas como la observación, cuadros comparativos y encuestas. La muestra, compuesta por 64 turistas y residentes de Ibarra, se seleccionó de manera no probabilística por conveniencia. Los resultados obtenidos exponen información detallada sobre el grado de interés en el dark tourism y la realidad aumentada por parte de los encuestados. Con base en estos hallazgos, se plantea la creación de un prototipo de ruta turística en Ibarra que integre la tecnología de realidad aumentada y el dark tourism, con el objetivo de atraer tanto a turistas como a residentes, proporcionándoles experiencias turísticas vanguardistas y fuera de lo común.
The city of Ibarra reveals a promising potential for the development of tourist attractions, especially in the field of dark tourism” and even more so by taking advantage of augmented reality technology. This opportunity is presented as a clear path towards the incorporation of such technology, covering not only cemeteries, but also homes with stories of spirits, legends and places related to paranormal experiences. The application of this technology is seen as a competitive factor both locally and nationally, which encompasses significant benefits for the entire community. Therefore, the present study proposes the conceptualization of a tourist route that integrates the paranormal and the technological innovation. For its development, qualitative and quantitative research approaches were employed, integrating analytical, synthetic, and deductive methods. Likewise, and end exhaustive bibliographic analysis, field and comparative research were carried out, making use of techniques such as observation, comparative tables, and surveys. The sample, composed of 64 tourist and residents of Ibarra, was a non-probabilistically for convenience. The results obtained expose detailed information on the degree of interest in dark tourism and augmented reality by the participants. Based in these findings, the creation of a prototype of a tourist route in Ibarra that integrates augmented reality and dark tourism is proposed, with the aim of attracting both tourists and residents, providing them with avant-garde and unusual tourist experiences.
