Análisis descriptivo del estado nutricional en usuarios del centro diurno del adulto mayor Urcuqui

Abstract
Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar el esta nutricional del adulto mayor mediante la aplicación de la encuesta Mini Nutritional Assessement en el centro de atención diurna del cantón Urcuqui. El estudio fue descriptivo, cuantitativo. La población estuvo conformada por 70 adultos mayores de ambos sexos. Se realizo la evaluación mediante el MNA que valora: antropométricos, valoración global, historia dietética, autopercepción de salud y estado nutricional. La calidad de la dieta se evaluó dentro de las 24 horas, los resultados encontrados el mayor porcentaje es mujeres 64%, el 28% están entre las edades de 81 a 89 años respectivamente, su periodo de instrucción escolar predomina un 98,5% primaria incompleta. Según el diagnóstico del cribaje el 60% manifiestan ingerir alimentos igual del que sabían comer, el 38,6% no saben cómo se encuentran de salud y un 61,4% no presentan problemas de nutrición. De los 70 adultos que pasaron a la evaluación global el 100% de la población se encuentra con un estado nutricional normal. Sin embargo, la dieta consumida según el recordatorio de 24 horas se pudo determinar que no cubre las necesidades nutricionales recomendadas en macronutrientes como en kcal /día para este grupo poblacional encontradas por debajo 90 % de adecuación. Llegando a la conclusión que la mayor parte de la población presenta un estado nutricional normal.
The aim of this research was to analyse the nutritional status of the elderly by applying the Mini Nutritional Assessment survey in the day care centre in the Urcuqui canton. The study was descriptive and quantitative. The population consisted of 70 older adults of both sexes. The assessment was carried out using the MNA that evaluates: anthropometrics, global assessment, dietary history, self-perception of health and nutritional status. The quality of the diet was evaluated within 24 hours, the results found that the highest percentage were women (64%), 28% were between 81 and 89 years of age respectively, and 98.5% had incomplete primary education. According to the screening diagnosis, 60% reported eating the same food as they knew how to eat, 38.6% did not know how their health was and 61.4% had no nutritional problems. Of the 70 adults who passed the global assessment, 100% of the population had a normal nutritional status. However, the diet consumed according to the 24-hour recall was found not to cover the recommended nutritional needs in macronutrients and kcal/day for this population group, which were found to be below 90% of adequacy. It was concluded that most of the population has a normal nutritional status.
