Análisis del potencial del turismo termal en el cantón Urcuquí

Abstract
Urcuquí cuenta con un gran potencial turístico al poseer aguas termales de origen volcánico beneficiosas para la salud, algunos estudios han comprobado el poder curativo para las dolencias y algunas enfermedades reumáticas, asimismo las termas son visitadas por turistas por motivo de descanso, relajación, entre otros. Es por ello que este estudio propone analizar el potencial del termalismo dentro de la localidad planteando varias estrategias para que se desarrolle de gran manera el termalismo. La metodología llevada a cabo parte de dos enfoques cualitativo y cuantitativo, es decir es una investigación mixta; la cual va acompañada de dos métodos de investigación analítico-sintético y deductivo; de igual manera a ello se suman tres técnicas de investigación: la observación, entrevistas y encuestas. Es así que se aplicó una muestra no probabilística de conveniencia la cual se empleó a un universo de 100 turistas que llegan a los diferentes balnearios termales del cantón Urcuquí. En los resultados se obtuvo información pertinente acerca de la situación actual de la zona en donde se ubican los dichos establecimientos, además del motivo de visita por el cual los visitantes acceden a la localidad y la relevancia que generan estas aguas. De esta manera de estableció las estrategias para fortalecer el turismo termal, concluyendo que el termalismo dentro de la localidad urcuquireña se ha desarrollado y fortalecido con el pasar de los años.
Urcuquí has a great potential for tourism as it has thermal waters of volcanic origin that are beneficial for health, some studies have proven the healing power for ailments and some rheumatic diseases, also the hot springs are visited by tourists for rest, relaxation, among others. That is why this study proposes to analyze the potential of the thermalism within the locality proposing several strategies so that the thermalism can be developed in a great way. The methodology carried out is based on two approaches, qualitative and quantitative, that is to say, it is mixed research, which is accompanied by two research methods, analytical synthetic and deductive; in the same way, three research techniques are added: observation, interviews and surveys. Thus, a non-probabilistic sample of convenience was applied to a universe of 100 tourists that arrive to the different thermal spas of the Urcuquí canton. In the results, relevant information was obtained about the current situation of the area where these establishments are located, as well as the reason why visitors come to the locality and the relevance generated by these waters. In this way, the strategies to strengthen the thermal tourism were established, concluding that the thermalism within the locality of Urcuquí has been developed and strengthened over the years.
