Repotenciación del espacio público del barrio “La Florida” en Otavalo comprendido entre los íconos urbanos de las piscinas “El Neptuno”, “Gruta del Socavón”, “Cruz del Socavón”; para el realce de la identidad cultural

Abstract

Otavalo es una ciudad ubicada en la Provincia de Imbabura, conocida por sus atractivos naturales, turísticos, gastronómicos, artesanales y sobre todo culturales. Posee un gran número de hitos urbanos en los distintos barrios que la conforman; especialmente en el Ba rrio 'La Florida', el cual cuenta con: Las Piscinas 'El Neptuno', 'La Cruz del Socavón', 'La Gruta del Socavón', entre otros; aportando así, un gran potencial turístico y cultural tanto al barrio como a la ciudad. Dentro del Barrio 'La Florida' en medio de los hitos se encuentra un gran espacio público en total abandono, generado por el embovedado realizado al río Machángara, ya que pro vocaba varias inundaciones en época de lluvias. Además del deterioro y carencia de una adecuada infraestructura, que han provocado contaminación ambiental, inseguridad, van dalismo y una pérdida importante del valor cultural y social del sector. El propósito del proyecto será disfrutar de un parque lúdico a lo largo de todo el embove dado del río; con el que podremos tener un nuevo uso del espacio abandonado, brindando así confort y seguridad a los moradores del barrio, impulsando el deporte y el cuidado del medio ambiente, sumándose a esto el rescate del valor cultural y patrimonial que posee el sector, preservando los hitos representativos a través de circuitos culturales e históricos dentro del mismo parque. Within the neighborhood 'La Florida' in the middle of the landmarks is a large public space in total abandonment, generated by the dumping made to the Machángara River, since it caused several floods in the rainy season. In addition to the deterioration and lack of ade quate infrastructure, which have caused environmental contamination, insecurity, vandalism and a significant loss of the cultural and social value of the sector. The purpose of the project will be to enjoy a recreational park along the entire vaulting of the river; with which we can have a new use of the abandoned space, thus providing com fort and security to the residents of the neighborhood, promoting sports and caring for the environment, adding to this the rescue of the cultural and heritage value that the sector has, preserving the representative landmarks through cultural and historical circuits within the same park.
