Abstract
La investigación busca determinar las estrategias de afrontamiento de la madre frente a la discapacidad intelectual de su hijo, a partir del funcionamiento familiar, tratando de analizar aquellas conductas que presentan cada uno de los miembros del entorno familiar. Se fundamentó en una metodología mixta, descriptiva, de historia de vida analítica, afianzada en historia personológica, entrevista multifactorial confirmatoria de factores de riesgo, escala de evaluación de la adaptabilidad y de la cohesión familiar, escala de satisfacción familiar, escala de comunicación familiar, inventario de respuestas de afrontamiento para adultos y finalmente para conocer los patrones del funcionamiento familiar se aplica el genograma. Los resultados arrojan un nivel alto en la dimensión de aceptación y búsqueda de guía y soporte, con un nivel de descarga emocional; en relación a los resultados de las escalas indica un bajo nivel de comunicación, adaptabilidad y cohesión familiar, mostrando un nivel medio de satisfacción familiar. El estudio evidencia la necesidad de la satisfacción, adaptabilidad al grupo familiar, a pesar de la presencia de la discapacidad.
The research seeks to determine the coping strategies of the mother to the intellectual disability of her child, starting from the family functioning, trying to analyze those behaviors that present each of the members of the family environment. It was based on a mixed, descriptive methodology of analytical life history, consolidated in personological history, multifactorial interview confirmatory of risk factors, scale of assessment of adaptability and family cohesion, scale of family satisfaction, scale of family communication, inventory of coping responses for adults and finally to know the patterns of family functioning applies the genogram.The results show a high level in the dimension of acceptance and search for guidance and support, with a level of emotional discharge; in relation to the results of the scales indicates a low level of communication, adaptability and family cohesion, showing an average level of family satisfaction. The study evidences the need for satisfaction, adaptability to the family group, despite the presence of the disability.
