Abstract
El derecho a la no discriminación de las mujeres migrantes en Ecuador es un tema fundamental que involucra su vulnerabilidad debido a su género y estatus migratorio. Los medios de comunicación desempeñan un papel significativo en la perpetuación o reducción de la discriminación hacia estas mujeres. El objetivo general es describir si existe influencia en los medios de comunicación en la percepción de la sociedad sobre las mujeres migrantes en Ibarra, para ello esta investigación se llevó a cabo utilizando un enfoque mixto que combinó elementos cualitativos y cuantitativos. El nivel de profundidad descriptivo dio paso a examinar y analizar investigaciones previas, teorías y conceptos relevantes relacionados con el tema de investigación. Los métodos aplicados fueron, el método socio jurídico que ayudó a comprender cómo el tema de investigación se relaciona con la sociedad y su entorno legal. El método analítico- sintético: Esto permitió un análisis y comprensión más profunda de las diversas dimensiones del tema. El método deductivo: Esto ayudó a identificar las acciones y políticas gubernamentales que podrían estar relacionadas con el tema y proporcionó información valiosa sobre el contexto político y administrativo, en favor del derecho a la no discriminación de las mujeres migrantes debido a los medios de comunicación. Las técnicas utilizadas fueron la revisión documental, entrevistas a medios de comunicación y mujeres migrantes y encuestas a la sociedad. Mismas que como resultado se obtuvo que los medios de comunicación en Imbabura si influyen en la percepción de las mujeres migrantes en la sociedad Ibarreña, ya que al realizar las encuestas a la sociedad ibarreña afirmaron un 72,5% que la información que transmiten los medios de comunicación si ha influido hacia las mujeres migrantes con discriminación, estereotipos y xenofobia, vulnerando sus derechos y obstaculizando oportunidades de superación.
The right to non-discrimination of migrant women in Ecuador is a fundamental issue that involves their vulnerability due to their gender and migratory status. The media plays a significant role in perpetuating or reducing discrimination towards these women. The general objective is to describe whether there is influence in the media on society's perception of migrant women in Ibarra. To achieve this, this research was conducted using a mixed approach that combined qualitative and quantitative elements. The level of descriptive depth allowed for examining and analysing previous research, theories, and relevant concepts related to the research topic. The methods applied included the socio legal method, which helped understand how the research topic relates to society and its legal environment. The analytical-synthetic method allowed for a deeper analysis and understanding of the various dimensions of the topic. The deductive method helped identify governmental actions and policies that could be related to the topic and provided valuable information about the political and administrative context in favor of the right to non-discrimination of migrant women due to media influence. The techniques used included documentary review, interviews with media outlets and migrant women, and surveys of society. As a result, it was found that the media in Imbabura does influence the perception of migrant women in Ibarra society, as 72.5% of the Ibarra population surveyed affirmed that the information conveyed by the media has influenced migrant women with discrimination, stereotypes, and xenophobia, violating their rights and hindering opportunities for advancement.
