Abstract
This study was carried out in the province of Imbabura, in the Otavalo Canton in the parishes of Miguel Egas Cabezas and San Juan de Iluman, in the Antonio Ante Canton in the Parish of San Roque where it was determined that there is a change in vegetation coverage through of the mapping that was carried out with Landsat images of the years 1993, 2005 and 2018, also by means of the survey that was carried out to the three parishes, it was established that the main source of income is livestock and agricultural activities. To consider the change in vegetation, a multitemporal analysis of the years 1993, 2005, 2018 of the vegetation cover on the slopes of the Imbabura hill, focused on the three parishes with the support of satellite images, was chosen; and the identification of key actors to determine the possible causes of the change in the vegetation cover, with this a proposal for conservation. Undoubtedly there has been a change in the vegetation coverage in each of the three parishes where the study is conducted, while the forest has been disappearing, there has been a population growth for the year 2018. That is why it is necessary to develop a conservation proposal, which will prioritize the different biotic factors that the slopes of the Imbabura hill possess and thus promote good, environmental practices and use an adequate sustainable development focused on the different communities that inhabit the place study. In this way it is intended to protect the hill Imbabura for future generations.
