Abstract
La presente investigación busca determinar la presencia de la nomofobia en la
sociedad y la incidencia en la comunicación interpersonal de quien lo padece,
tomando en cuenta que es el miedo irracional a estar sin el dispositivo móvil cerca de
su alcance. Debido a tanta facilidad que la tecnología ha dado al ser humano y ha
hecho que se presenten innegables rasgos que indican que los jóvenes estudiantes
la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Sede Ibarra y Universidad Técnica del
Norte padecen dependencia a la tecnología, en primera instancia el teléfono móvil fue
creado para acortar distancias y acercar a quienes se encuentran lejos, sin embargo,
el uso excesivo del mismo ha logrado generar todo lo contrario, está alejando a
quienes se encuentran cerca por acercar a quienes no lo están; en el trayecto de la
investigación se optó utilizar el método deductivo debido a que va desde un tema más
general a un tema particular como lo es la nomofobia. En este trabajo de titulación se
trabajó con una muestra de 350 estudiantes universitarios por medio de la técnica
encuesta, lo que aportó estadísticas muy objetivas de tratar. Luego de determinar la
presencia de la Nomofobia en los encuestados, se recomienda a las instituciones
educativas dar mayor importancia al tema debido a que puede causar graves
consecuencias a largo plazo.
This research seeks to determine the presence of nomophobia in society and the impact on interpersonal communication of those who suffer from it, taking into account that it is the irrational fear of being without the mobile device within reach. Due to the ease that technology has given to human beings, it has come to present undeniable features that indicate that young students at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Sede Ibarra and Universidad Técnica del Norte will have dependence on technology, in the first instance the mobile phone was created to shorten distances and bring closer those who are far away, however, its excessive use has managed to generate the opposite, it is moving away those who are close by bringing those who are not close; In the course of the investigation, it was decided to use the deductive method because it goes from a more general topic to a particular topic such as nomophobia. In this titling work, we worked with a sample of 350 university students through the technical survey, which provided very objective statistics to deal with. After determining the presence of Nomophobia in the respondents, it is recommended that educational institutions give greater importance to the subject because it can cause serious long-term consequences.
