Abstract
The present study was conducted in the province of Imbabura, Cotacachi canton, Quiroga and Sagrario parishes in the communities of Perafán, Tunibamba, Alambuela, Cercado, San Pedro, Azaya, Santa Bárbara, Topo Grande, Batan, Iltaquí, Morochos and San José, where agricultural and livestock activities are the main source of income. With the obtaining of the results it was observed that the changes provoked in the vegetal cover are due to anthropic activities such as, for example: advance of the agricultural frontier, burns, among others. To consider changes in vegetation, a multi-temporal analysis of the years 1991, 2008 and 2015 of the vegetation cover was carried out with the support of satellite images\; the same one that was based on a hydrological modeling to analyze the implication that the hydric resource has with the existent vegetal cover of the place, allowing to know more in detail the resources water and vegetation, facilitating the implementation of proposals directed to the conservation, protection and management adequate biotic and abiotic resources of the studied area and thus be used in possible projects of sustainability, ecotourism, research and others. On the other hand, training community members on the appropriate use of the resources they have and the activities they can develop to keep them in their natural state are the main axis to achieve each of the proposals presented and this can be achieved through of the integration of the actors of the community with the objective of achieving the good management of the resources, since their subsistence depends on them.
