The atmospheric emissions of the industries have deteriorated the quality of the air, becoming a problem by releasing pollutants that contribute to the increase of the greenhouse effect. The problem is its rapid dispersion; its concentration has altered the normal conditions of the air. The main objective of this study was to diagnose the pollutants emitted from the textile industry and with the help of the AERMOD Screen View and Hysplit software, their dispersion and concentration were known. The investigation consisted of registering emission values from a fixed source of combustion (chimney) that works with LPG fuel, in the Indutexma factory dedicated to the production of cloth located in the city of Otavalo, province of Imbabura. For two non-consecutive weeks, the emission values were taken with the PUCE - SI laboratory equipment at three times: at 07:00, 14:00 and 19:00, taking into account the ambient temperature, the wind speed and the gas outlet temperature. The results of the investigation indicate the following higher concentration values with the application of the AERMOD Screen View software: CO 0.57 µg.m-3, NO 0.95 µg.m-3, NOx 0.139 µg.m-3, CO2 1.55 µg.m-3, PM 2.5 6500 µg.m-3 and PM 10 3700, while for the Hysplit software: CO 1.1-7 mg.m-3, NO 1.8- 10 mg.m-3, NOx 1.0-10 mg.m-3, CO2 1.4-09 mg.m-3, PM 10 1.2-09 mg.m-3 and PM 2.5 1.3 - 10 mg.m-3; the values do not exceed the maximum permissible limits established in the regulations. This research also presents a proposal for an improvement plan where strategies are given to try to reduce the concentration of emission of pollutants into the atmosphere and, in turn, contribute to the improvement of air quality.
