Item Open Access La situación laboral actual de las y los periodistas en Imbabura(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Sede Ibarra, 2019-08) Castillo Andrade, Bryan AlexanderThis research work has been directed in view of the constant debate in Ecuador and Imbabura that alleges that, within the media, the journalistic profession is precarious, both for communicators and communicators who have a degree, as well as for those who do not He has a degree and practice based on empirical knowledge of the subject. The work presented below uses the analytical method due to the large number of factors that come into play when talking about journalism, and it is mainly because, in order to understand the current situation that this profession is going through, we must do a thorough study of the media in Imbabura and through right questions, define why factors are framed as one of the professions where the rights of the worker are most affected. One of the main results that was extracted and also very worrying is that the state does not generate laws or projects that can offer security to its journalists, since many of them feel tied at the time of making reports or news because they do not feel safe or protected. Aspects such as fair wages, extensive working hours, university education, overtime pay, the inclusion of new information and communication technologies in newsrooms, among other aspects, will be studied and analyzed based on the application of surveys and in-depth interviews that will provide the necessary data for the fulfillment of the objective of this investigation.
