Abstract
El aumento de la población de adultos mayores y su mayor demanda de atención en salud en el Ecuador, requiere de una valoración geriátrica integral que permita evaluar las esferas clínica, funcional, mental y social; de esta forma conocer el estado de salud actual que presentan las 75 personas adultas mayores que asisten a Espacios de Socialización y Encuentro de la Parroquia San Isidro durante el periodo octubre 2023 – febrero 2024. La presente investigación es de tipo descriptiva, con enfoque cuantitativo, transversal, de campo y no experimental, donde se aplicaron diversos test. La Ficha clínica KICA muestra que el 54% de la población es adulta mayor joven, siendo el 61% mujeres; la escala de la Cruz Roja donde se observa que el 65% pueden realizar actividades de la vida diaria pero presentan dificultad al deambular; en la SARCO-GS el 36% de la población la presenta sarcopenia; la KICA-COG refleja que el 97% no presenta demencia; dentro de la escala de Yesavage el 68% no presenta depresión; y en la escala de Gijón, manifiesta que el 96% de la población se encuentra en riesgo social.
The increase in the population of older adults and their greater demand for health care in Ecuador requires a comprehensive geriatric assessment that allows evaluating the clinical, functional, mental and social spheres; in this way, we will know the current health status of the 75 older adults who attend the Socialization and Meeting Spaces of the San Isidro Parish during the period October 2023 – February 2024. The present research is descriptive, with a quantitative approach, transversal, field and non-experimental, where various tests were applied. The KICA clinical record shows that 54% of the population is young older adults, 61% being women; the Red Cross scale where it is observed that 65% can carry out activities of daily living but have difficulty walking; in the SARCO-GS, 36% of the population has sarcopenia; the KICA-COG reflects that 97% do not present dementia; within the Yesavage scale, 68% do not present depression; and on the Gijon scale, it states that 96% of the population is at social risk.
