Abstract
The research focuses on developing graphic material to prevent cognitive decline in older adults from the Bolívar canton, belonging to the Simón Bolívar” association. Although aging does not necessarily imply significant memory loss, cognitive decline affects a large portion of the elderly population, negatively impacting their quality of life and autonomy. In the current context, the lack of adequate cognitive stimulation is a growing issue, with a cognitive decline prevalence of 51.4% in Ecuador, particularly among women and individuals with low education. This study aims to demonstrate that graphic design can serve as an effective tool for exercising the mind and improving brain health. A visual bingo has been implemented, which has been well received, showing that activities like these can promote participation and mental stimulation, helping to maintain cognitive health and reduce the risk of decline. The research provides an accessible and effective solution that enhances the quality of life for older adults through cognitive stimulation and education.
