Abstract
La corriente de la Responsabilidad Social Universitaria (RSU), se viene aplicando desde hace más de diez años en América Latina; la cual presenta un marco teórico útil para medir la gestión social. Las universidades limitan sus objetivos de gestión y desarrollo hacía dentro del campus, descuidando las necesidades sociales; cuya consecuencia es el bajo impacto social de los proyectos de investigación. Utilizando una metodología cualitativa – interpretativa, se identifica a través de una investigación teórico - documental, el nivel de aplicación de la RSU en el diseño de proyectos de investigación de Universidades del Ecuador; detectándose un bajo nivel de aplicabilidad de este enfoque al diseñar, ejecutar y evaluar los mismos; razón por la cual su impacto en la sociedad es débil.
The current of University Social Responsibility (RSU), has been applied for more than ten years in Latin America; which presents a theoretical framework useful for measuring social management. Universities limit their management and development goals on campus, neglecting social needs; whose consequence is the low social impact of the research projects. Using a qualitative - interpretative methodology, it is identified through a theoretical - documentary research, the level of application of the RSU in the design of research projects of Universities of Ecuador; detecting a low level of applicability of this approach when designing, executing and evaluating them; which is why its impact on society is weak.
