dc.description.abstractEste trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar el turismo comunitario en Ecuador, ofreciendo una primera aproximación a este tipo de actividad tanto desde el punto de vista conceptual como en el plano empírico o aplicado. Para ello, se parte de la literatura relativa a la conceptualización del turismo comunitario, a nivel general y en el ámbito de América Latina. Seguidamente se realiza una revisión de la regulación legal y las políticas públicas aplicadas en el caso ecuatoriano. Finalmente, el trabajo se completa con un análisis del volumen y las principales características de la oferta de este tipo de turismo en Ecuador, tomando como base los datos oficiales del Ministerio de Turismo recogidos en el Boletín de Estadísticas de Turismo para los períodos 2009-2013 y 2010-2014 y los datos proporcionados por la FEPTCE para el período 2006-2012. Sobre la base de ese análisis intentamos establecer unas conclusiones provisionales sobre el papel actual del turismo comunitario y su posible contribución a la diversificación de actividades en las áreas rurales de Ecuador.
dc.description.abstractThis work aims to analyze community tourism in Ecuador, offering a first approximation to this type of activity from the conceptual point of view as well as the empirical or applied. To this end, the literature on the conceptualization of community tourism, on a general level and in the field of Latin America, is based on this. Next, a review of the legal regulation and the public policies applied in the Ecuadorian case is carried out. Finally, the work is completed with an analysis of the volume and the main characteristics of the offer of this type of tourism in Ecuador, based on the official data of the Ministry of Tourism, included in the Tourism Statistics Bulletin for the periods 2009-2013 And 2010-2014 and the data provided by FEPTCE for the period 2006-2012. On the basis of this analysis, we intend to draw tentative conclusions on the current role of community tourism and its possible contribution to the diversification of activities in rural areas of Ecuador.en_US
