Actividades didácticas basadas en la inteligencia emocional para mejorar el aprendizaje del idioma inglés en los niños(PUCE - Esmeraldas, 2025-11-06) Ramírez Perea, Iveth Karina; Ramírez Lozada, HaydeéEste proyecto de investigación analiza la aplicación de diferentes actividades didácticas diseñadas con base en los componentes de la inteligencia emocional para renovar el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje de una lengua extranjera a los niños. La investigación resalta el rol crucial significado trascendental de la inteligencia emocional en el ámbito educativo, resaltando cómo emociones como el miedo, la ansiedad y la baja motivación influyen en el desarrollo de los estudiantes para aprender un nuevo idioma. El proyecto se aplicó en la escuela “Nuevo Ecuador” que siguió un enfoque mixto. Como instrumento se aplicó una encuesta a estudiantes de séptimo grado para descubrir los principales problemas emocionales y temas de interés para aprender inglés a través de actividades relacionadas con las emociones. Como respuesta a la encuesta se conoció que los estudiantes a menudo se sienten nerviosos y frustrados al aprender un nuevo idioma, lo que resulta en falta de motivación y confianza. Por lo tanto, el uso de actividades como juegos divertidos, canciones, narración de cuentos y refuerzo auténtico ayuda positivamente al deseo de los estudiantes por aprender inglés y activa su participación. Como resultado, se creó un conjunto de actividades pedagógicas para satisfacer las diferentes necesidades que enfrentan los estudiantes. Los métodos utilizados fueron análisis y síntesis, hermenéutica y estadística descriptiva, con las técnicas de revisión documental y encuesta, con el cuestionario como instrumento principal. Los resultados revelaron que el nivel real de inglés de los estudiantes en áreas rurales es significativamente bajo y este aspecto necesita una intervención urgente. Además, se encontró que la mayoría de los estudiantes de las zonas rurales tienen deficiencias para desarrollar la habilidad del habla debido a la falta de metodologías correctas para enseñar el idioma inglés. Además, los resultados mostraron que las mejores estrategias a utilizar para enseñar inglés en zonas rurales se basan en actividades didácticas lúdicas con el uso de la tecnología como herramienta principal. Finalmente, se evidenció que los estudiantes rurales deben desarrollar muchas de sus habilidades comunicativas para mejorar sus destrezas en el inglés, siendo la producción de preguntas y respuestas la más importante. Se puede concluir que los docentes de las zonas rurales deben ser formados tanto en conocimientos metodológicos como de contenidos, considerando que las mejores metodologías a utilizar en estas zonas son las didácticas lúdicas auxiliadas por un material didáctico innovador y el uso de la tecnología, pues el objetivo principal de la educación es permitir que los estudiantes se eduquen con calidad e inclusión.Item Open Access Estrategia innovadora basada en el uso de videojuegos para enseñar inglés a alumnos en una clase multinivel(PUCE - Esmeraldas, 2023) Sánchez Perlaza, Ronald OmarEl siguiente proyecto de investigación se busca cual es la incidencia de los videojuegos en relación a la enseñanza y aprendizaje en una clase multi-nivel, donde se considera al videojuego como una alternativa de apoyo para la catedra del idioma inglés y a su vez la motivación que suponen en los estudiantes, en el mismo sentido se analizan aspectos como las ventajas del uso de algo que está a la vanguardia como lo son los videojuegos con sus posibles desventajas, está investigación tiene como componente esencial ser de tipo cuantitativa, con la finalidad de encuestar un grupo representativo de estudiantes pertenecientes al 7mo Año de EGB de la Unidad Educativa Fisco misional “ Don Bosco”, por último se analizan los datos que surgen de una encuesta aplicada a un total de 35 alumnos y 6 docentes de inglés donde se conoció su opinión positiva sobre el uso de los videojuegos en su proceso educativo.Item Open Access El uso de canciones como herramienta para desarrollar el nivel de aprendizaje de inglés de los alumnos de segundo grado del Centro Educativo Infantil Montesol, Esmeraldas, 2023(PUCE - Esmeraldas, 2023) Solórzano Figueroa, Liv DarlenneAnalizar el aporte de las canciones en el mejoramiento del aprendizaje del idioma inglés de los estudiantes del centro educativo infantil Montesol de Esmeraldas, 2023, se realizó esta investigación por medio de la investigación acción cualitativa. Los métodos de esta investigación fueron el análisis, la síntesis, la hermenéutica y la estadística descriptiva, con las técnicas de guía de observación, dos evaluaciones y una encuesta cuantitativa bastante sencilla de comprender, que se aplicó a los cuatro estudiantes del segundo año de básica. Los resultados revelaron la notoria mejoría en el nivel de inglés de los alumnos en cuanto a la aplicación de canciones en la clase de inglés. Como conclusión, se puede afirmar que el uso de canciones como herramienta para desarrollar el proceso de aprendizaje de inglés de los alumnos es factible y viable.Item Open Access La influencia de las inteligencias múltiples en el desarrollo de las habilidades de aprendizaje del idioma inglés en los estudiantes(PUCE - Esmeraldas, 2023) Angulo Ortiz, Aarón GonzaloPara evaluar la influencia de las inteligencias múltiples en el desarrollo del dominio del idioma inglés en los estudiantes del Colegio Sagrado Corazón, Esmeraldas 2022, se llevó a cabo una investigación cuali-cuantitativa, con una población y muestra de 28 estudiantes. Los métodos fueron análisis y síntesis, hermenéutica y estadística descriptiva, aplicados con la técnica de encuesta. Aparte de una encuesta también se realizó un test basado en las cuatro habilidades principales del inglés para ver cómo las tenían desarrolladas. Se dio como resultado primero que 32% de los estudiantes tienen desarrollada la inteligencia musical. Por otro lado, se evidenció que el 100% tiene problemas en escucha y el 82% en habla. Por último, se propuso que hay que realizar actividades basadas en las habilidades que más fallas tienen y relacionarlas con la inteligencia que más desarrollada tienen, lo que significa que se tienen que hacer actividades basadas en la música lo cual es muy importante porque por medio de ella desarrollan un mejor escucha y habla.Item Open Access Teaching English with the ludic methodology to children in the second basic grade at Velasco Ibarra School in Esmeraldas City, Ecuador(PUCE - Esmeraldas, 2015) Estupinan Jaramillo, Evelin DayanaThough efforts have been made by the Ministry of Education concerning the introduction of English Teaching in the Ecuadorian school at all levels, the English teachers of the Second Basic Grade at Velasco Ibarra” school, Esmeraldas city, Ecuador, have some methodological difficulties that make it hard to carry out the teaching learning process successfully. The purpose of this investigation was to propose a handbook with games to improve the English Language Learning of students from the level referred. A diagnosis of the problem was made by means of observation and surveys applied to students and teachers, during the academic year 2013-2014. After computing the results, a handbook with games was designed based on the learning needs of the students and the methodological difficulties of the teachers. The games were designed carefully, matching the content units of the textbook for Second Graders, and taking into consideration the didactic components, principles and laws. Precise methodological orientations were also designed for the English Teachers to work with the handbook in order to achieve good results. The handbook allows an increase of interaction, motivation, stimulation, and activation of learning. Teniendo en cuenta que el personal docente es clave en una educación igualitaria, el ministerio de Educación del Ecuador revisó la reforma curricular de 1996 y redactó la actualización y fortalecimiento curricular de la educación general básica, relacionando con igualdad de género en la formación educativa, con la finalidad de reducir las brechas de desigualdad existentes en el sistema educativo” (Educación, 2010). Estos se aplicaron a 60 estudiantes y tres maestros de la Unidad Educativa Fiscal 'Margarita Cortés'Item Open Access Teaching English through music to the 8th level of basic education students with learning difficulties at Margarita Cortés Educational Institution in Esmeraldas, 2017(PUCE - Esmeraldas, 2018) Girón Charcopa, Ana PaulaIn order to analyze how music can contribute to the improvement of the teaching-learning process of the English language on the eighth level of basic education students with learning difficulties at Margarita Cortes Educational Institution in Esmeraldas, a descriptive investigation was carried out using the methods of deduction and induction; in addition, techniques such as the interview, observation and survey were applied to a population of 40 students and one English teacher of the eighth level of basic education students with learning difficulties at Margarita Cortes Educational Institution. The results revealed that students enjoy listening, singing and performing activities with songs in the English classes; students feel motivated and willing to learn English after singing a song because they can memorize and understand the language better. The English teacher does not usually use music in her lessons because there is a lack of knowledge about how to apply music in the class and what are the activities and strategies that can be used. This research coincided with a series of investigations related to the use of music applying the ludic methodology and suggestopedia method, emphasizing the use of physical activities and a relaxed atmosphere within the classroom, but not with the use of music as a methodology to teach the content of the textbook. That is why some pedagogical activities, strategies, and songs for the use of music on the eighth level of basic education students with learning difficulties at Margarita Cortes Educational Institution in Esmeraldas, were presented as a proposal of this research.Item Open Access Do corpora benefit the level of vocabulary of 10th year of basic education students? Case study in Don Bosco Educational Institution in Esmeraldas, 2015–2016(PUCE - Esmeraldas, 2016) Castillo Jaén, Sindy JanethThe low level in English classes leads to the need of looking for alternatives of new techniques and methodologies that help to solve this issue. The present case study aims at investigating the benefits that corpus (or its plural corpora) can provide to school classes in Esmeraldas, Ecuador. Through a period of one month, paper material based on information taken from a corpus will be applied in a 10th level class at a fiscomisional institution in Esmeraldas. This is an experimental type of study that used mainly quantitative methods for the analysis of class documents and questionnaires, in order to explore students respond and perceptions to corpus. Also, a pre-test and post-test will be carried out in two classes, one in which the corpus will be applied (treatment group) and the other one which will continue with its regular learning process (control group), in order to know the level of students regarding vocabulary pre- and post the treatment period. So that later, through a comparison between the results of both groups and the analysis of a survey, be able to state the benefits that the use of corpus could bring to the English teaching field. The findings indicate that, despite its short time of implementation, the use of corpus in classes provides improvement in the vocabulary level of students.Item Open Access Didactic strategy to develop the A-2 level students’ communicative competence in the English language according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages at PUCE Esmeraldas, 2018(PUCE - Esmeraldas, 2019) Bautista Salazar, Fiama SamanthaThe use of didactic strategies, both for students and teachers, are crucial to improve language learning. In order to design a didactic strategy to improve university students’ communicative competence in English at the A-2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, in the PUCE Esmeraldas, 2018; a qualitative-quantitative investigation was done, using the analytic, synthetic, hermeneutic and descriptive-statistics methods and the techniques of observation and surveys which were applied to 18 students and 2 teachers of English of the A2 level. The results obtained showed that even with the use of a provided material and the proper instruction of the teacher, the use of some didactic strategies may be of value for English lessons. This coincides with the results of the previous studies which concern about the use of didactic strategies to stimulate students’ development of their communicative competence. It is concluded that didactic strategies influence a lot when learning a new language and improve the production of language.Item Open Access Book to teach English for specific purposes (ESP) to students from the Applied Linguistics School who work as translators in the ECUADENT program in Esmeraldas(PUCE - Esmeraldas, 2018) Murillo Oyarvide, Luisa MaríaWith the aim of designing a book for the teaching of English for Specific Purposes for the students from the Applied Linguistics School at PUCE Esmeraldas who work as translators in the ECUADENT program, a mixed investigation, quantitative and qualitative was carried out with the analytical-synthetical and hermeneutic methods and the techniques of survey and test, which were applied to a sample of 13 students of 5th and 8th level from the Applied Linguistics School who have participated in the referred program. The results showed students’ lack of knowledge about communicative functions which are essential for the doctor-patient, doctor-nurse, doctor-relative interaction and also lack of medical lexicon in English which allows having communication and appropriate translation in the health care. Besides, the lack of a book to use as a didactic material for the training of the students was revealed. For this reason, through the analysis of the influence of Spanish, while learning English, it could be shown which parts of the speech affect the most in this process. Among them, it can be seen the 'false friends', or words that share the same way of being written or the same way of being pronounced but they do not share the same meaning. To determine the levels of influence of Spanish in the English learning process, students from the Hospitality and Tourism School at PUCE Esmeraldas were taken as population. The eight students who belong to the 8th level of the hospitality and tourism school participated in the survey and the test that determined which their English level was and how they have been affected by Spanish. The structure of this research has 5 chapters. The first chapter refers to the introduction the objectives, the justification, the theoretical framework, the legal bases and the previous studies. The second chapter goes through the different methods that were used to get the results, the universe, the sample, and the information collected. The third chapter has the analysis and interpretation of results and the description of the sample. Then, chapter four explain the discussion of the research process. Finally, the fifth chapter describes the conclusions and recommendations.
